The hundred Sources

The hundred Sources (18'32 ") is a soundscape composition closely linked to a particular place: the mountain of Asciano, which is part of the area nicknamed Valle delle Fonti.

It comes from research into listening and the musical qualities of natural environments, a research that led the artist Fausto Caricato to do Soundwalks in the woods of the mountains of Asciano Pisano at different times of the year to record the "voices" of the woods: the latest evidence, together with the medieval ruins, of the communities of mystics and hermits who lived alongside them.

Structured in three paintings (awakening, voices and rain) in which the sounds of water take on different colors and moods.

From this composition a multichannel immersive installation has been created.
